What is a Calcarosol?

Calcarosol are soils that are calcareous throughout the soil profile below the A horizon. These are some of the most widely distributed soils in Australia, being one of the most common soil orders, particularly along the south coast line.

Calcarosols sub-order is based on the type and extent of carbonate in the soil profile.
