What is an Organosol?

Organosols are soils that are dominated by organic matter in the A horizon. These soils typically occur in tropics or alpine regions. Due to the limited amount of these environments in Australia, this soil order only occurs in small spatial distributions. The only exception to this is Tasmania where the spatial distribution is significant.
